Growing Up To Fast For Mom!

It is hard to beleive that in less then six months Mya will be off to kindergarten. I am always wondering how they grow up so fast. Patrick and I intended to hold her back a year. We had this idea before she was even born. Mya's birthday being in October she will only be four when school starts. I think she is ready for school though. She enjoys going to Pre-K everday, and is sad if there is a vacation day at times. Her teacher says she is a good student. So, I will have to let her go. The question is who will be more sad that day Lena or Mom. This picture was before school one day. I told them to stand together, and they posed themselves!

Our Trip to Florida

We just returned from our trip to Florida. It was so nice. No one got sick while we were there, and there was so much to do. Here is a picture of us when we went on a trail ride. The girls loved it so much. Ava and Mya were so cute chatting between themselves the whole ride. Pat wasn't so much a big fan. It was his luck that he got the most sensitive horse there. Lena enjoyed riding so much that she got relaxed enough and started to fall asleep. Thankfully Littlelou was walking next to her telling her "don't close your eyes." Maybe one day the Hayes girls will have a horse, but not anytime soon!

Student of the Month!

At the beginning of the month Ava saw the school newsletter.  She saw the students of the month, and told me she wanted to be one.  I explained how you had to do many nice things to get student of the month.  Today she came home excitedly telling me she got student of the month.   I won't lie I didn't know what to think.  I was thrilled when she pulled a bracelet that said student of the month out of her backpack.  I told her how proud I was of her.  She then let me know that someone told her that I had done a good job too!  She is thrilled that her picture will be taken and hung up.  Ava choose to have pizza for dinner to celebrate.  I went to pick it up and on the way back a dear ran out in the road.  Next time I let them deliver!

The Horse Lover

Here is Lena wearing one of her favorite shirts.  She prefers to wear clothing that have horses on them.  Her bedroom also has all kinds of horses.  Can you believe she is going to be three in May?!  I don't know where time goes.  Lucky for us she hasn't figured out how to ask for a horse.  Lena keeps us on our toes.  I am hoping I can keep her healthy for the rest of winter.  January she had Pneumonia, and last week had an ear infection.  The ear infection certainly didn't stop her from getting in trouble.  We got home from the doctors, and I went out to get Ava from the bus.  Silly me I thought what trouble could she make she has a fever and doesn't feel well.  I came back to cayenne pepper all over the living room floor!  From now on I wave to the bus driver from the door.

Little Lou's Biggest Fan is Ava!

For those that don't know who Little Lou is she is my mom.  She spends lots of time with all of the girls, teaching them loving them.  Doing just about anything she can to let them know that she loves them all.  Ava's Papa is a big part of her life too.  My parents have for years gone to Florida for the winter.  My dad goes to work there as soon as the growing season changes.  He schedules his flights to Florida on a Monday and returns late Thursday night.  All because he has to pick Ava up from school on Friday!   Not because I need him to.  Just because that was their routine.  Well, my mom left this afternoon just for a couple of days to meet my dad. Six to be exact!  The only reason I know is, because Ava needed to know the day she would return! Well, this year Ava is understanding more.  The last couple of days Ava has been sad and crying at times.  She doesn't understand why grandma had to go to Florida.  I am at a loss of what I will do for the winter!  My mom leaves after christmas and returns in March, of course never to miss Ava's birthday!  Ava was born a month early so she could share her birthday with Papa. They always have a special cupcake together by themselves to share their birthday.  Ava will get over it, but has made the last couple of days hard.  She is just blessed with wonderful grandparents that love her so much!

A Cowgirl and Her Animals

Here they are Halloween night!  It looks as if I planned it, but I didn't.  The only thing planned was Lena wearing the Rooster.  Mya choose the Rooster last year and I knew it would fit Lena this year.   Ava decided she wanted to be a cow again. Luckily it still fit.  So, I let her be the cow.  Mya wanted to be a cowgirl.  I don't know where she got the idea, but she loved it.  It was funny listening to Lena  try to make Rooster noises!  We don't go many places for Halloween, but the girls loved it!

Mya's Fourth Birthday!

Mya turned four on October 29!  We celebrated her birthday with horse rides with her friends. I believe everyone had fun. Even some of the big kids wanted a turn to ride one of the horses! Mya's Papa was even riding.  I hope someone got a picture!  We were so lucky to have the Knight family bring their horses over for everyone to ride.
